Head of Project Management - Solar/Wind EPC Business - Large Scale Projects

The mission is to drive the renewable energy transition by delivering world-class, sustainable solutions. As they continue to expand, they are seeking an experienced Head of Project Management to join our team and lead their renewable energy project team.

Role Overview:
As the Head of Project Management, you will be at the helm of our project delivery team, overseeing the entire life-cycle of solar and wind projects from concept to completion. You will lead a diverse team of project managers and engineers, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a strategic leadership role where you will work closely with senior management and stakeholders to drive operational excellence, optimize processes, and contribute to the long-term growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the project management team, including project managers, engineers, and support staff, to deliver large-scale solar and wind energy projects across Ireland.
- Oversee all aspects of project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and quality control.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Develop and implement project management best practices, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Monitor project progress, conduct regular site visits, and provide timely reports to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of safety, quality, and sustainability within the project management team.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and permits throughout the project life-cycle.
- Manage relationships with key partners and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
- Mentor and develop the project management team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience (7+ years) in a senior project management role within the renewable energy sector, preferably in solar and wind EPC projects.
- Strong understanding of the full project life-cycle, from development and design to construction and commissioning.
- Experience in managing multi-million euro projects and large, cross-functional teams.
- Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- In-depth knowledge of Irish regulatory frameworks, planning processes, and environmental standards related to renewable energy projects.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to make strategic decisions under pressure and solve complex problems with a proactive approach.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, project management, or a related field. PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
