Here at Teamworx, we are delighted to be recruiting a Grocery Supermarket Assistant Manager to join the team of a highly successful supermarket group.
In this job as a Supermarket Assistant Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop and refine your retail skills through on-the-job training, and mentorship, and gain hands-on experience with an established supermarket team.
The store is a vibrant and busy store that operates with high standards.
My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual with great experience in a retail grocery environment who is looking for the opportunity to get exposure in a top-performing supermarket group with the ability to progress to managerial positions within an award-winning team.
Our client will offer a salary 38K DOE plus benefits.
Responsibilities for this Retail Grocery Assistant Manager Job:
You will work closely with the senior grocery shop manager, to learn the process of placing orders using their back office and ordering systems.
Understanding and implementing food safety and sanitation guidelines is essential.
You will learn about proper handling, storage, and temperature control of fresh food and grocery retail items to ensure they are safe for consumption.
Will be given exposure to people management, leading and evaluating people's work mainly within the grocery and retail departments, providing training and direction to complete tasks.
Collaboration and effective communication are essential to coordinate tasks, address challenges, and maintain a smooth operation.
You will provide support in various operational aspects, such as scheduling, staffing, and managing work shifts.
The ideal candidate for this Retail Grocery Assistant Manager Job:
Have strong attention to detail
Grocery or fresh food knowledge with some ordering experience, ideally within Retail, Supermarkets, Catering or Cafe environments would be essential for this job.
Organisational skills
Be able to work within a team and on your own initiative
Flexible to work different shifts, mornings and evenings
