The Background
An integral part of the energy distribution system our client has high product demand and is forecast to continue steadily through the next decade as energy consumption requirements increase.
They have increased production, achieving a level of success with regards to output and systems, and now need to progress into a more sustainable phase of strategic improvements, bringing it to the next stage of realisation.
The Role & Purpose
As a senior leader within the organisation, the role will ensure fluid co-ordination and leadership of production, materials, design, planning and engineering.
Using systems and processes to align and create data for successful flow and synchronisation of functions within the enterprise.
The role will seek to continuously improve plant performance and increase efficiency whilst striving to exceed budgeted performance.
Through deep organisational understanding this person will develop a team and processes to deliver operational excellence.
A focus will be to enhance the operational procedures, systems and principles with systematic thinking in the areas of information flow, management and business processes.
A key deliverable will be enhanced management reporting.
Responsibilities
Reports directly to the MD.
Identify the key operational improvements and drive them to completion.
To set and implement strategic operational goals in the context of ambitious growth plans for the business.
Develop information systems for organisation balance and control.
Creating early indicators to ensure anomalies and glitches are flagged.
Work with the MD to manage the cultural change associated with organisational change and growth.
To support, challenge and instil understanding in management and staff to achieve continuous improvement.
Build connections between teams and departments and coordinate cross-functional collaboration.
To reflect and promote the values of the company.
To set minimum department requirements and improvement goals including development of personnel.
To report to the MD on all aspects of Operations on a consistent and comprehensive basis.
To actively promote and continuously improve health and safety related systems and procedures alongside quality and environmental procedures throughout all functions.
To carry out any other any other reasonable duties as and when required by the MD.
The Person
Education to Masters level (or equivalent training and experience).
10 years plus of experience working in a Senior Manufacturing or Operations Management role.
Demonstrated ability to analyse processes, prioritise, enact change.
Strategically driven to set and achieve business goals.
Solutions focused: Ability to take complex situations and resolve them through data driven analysis and involve stakeholders in optimum resolution.
Proven experience in driving and monitoring and improving organisational performance and culture.
Proficiency in business planning software to enable financial projections, reports, and schedules per department.
A leader of people.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
