Our client is a modern boutique hotel in Galway City, renowned for its excellent food and relaxed atmosphere.
They are seeking a new head chef.
Applicants should come from a high-quality restaurant, gastro bar, or hotel background, ideally with a mix of experience.
While ideally having some experience as a head chef, our client will also consider candidates who have worked no higher than sous level.
The Candidate and the Role:
Experience in a high-quality gastropub in a busy environment
Lead the kitchen team - mentor, train, and support
Hands-on approach demanding high standards
Ensure quality & consistency are maintained
Establish and maintain SOPs regarding HACCP, quality, and cost control
Culinary excellence driven by passion
Focus on both creative and financial aspects
Manage staff, food, and waste costs
Manage supplier and vendor relationships
Be a team player and an integral part of the hospitality team
Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends
Work hours will not exceed 45 hours per week
Capable of planning, executing, and multitasking
Focus on traditional Irish food
