Microbiology Laboratory Manager

Hobson Prior is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Manager to oversee and guide the transition from research and development to full-scale commercial manufacturing at a pharmaceutical facility.
This role focuses on leading microbiology operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving efficiency in quality control processes.
This is an on-site position as the company transitions from R&D to commercial manufacturing.
Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.
Responsibilities
Set up and manage microbiology testing processes and laboratory infrastructure.
Lead the design and establishment of microbiology laboratories, including team management and resource allocation.
Oversee updates to microbiological methods and specifications.
Manage investigations related to microbiology and support technical transfers between sites.
Coordinate external laboratory testing to align with internal quality standards.
Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure compliance with microbiology regulations.
Work with various departments to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.
Support leadership development within Quality Control and Analytical R&D teams.
Expand inhalation microbiology capabilities in collaboration with global teams.
Assist senior leadership in scaling quality control operations.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and resource use.
Key Skills and Requirements
A degree in Microbiology or a related field.
Experience in laboratory environments with a focus on GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Strong knowledge of auditing and regulatory compliance.
Excellent organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.
Eligibility to work in Ireland.
