Applications are invited for the position of: Clinical Nurse Specialist/CNM2 Infection Prevention & Control This is a temporary post - Maternity Leave Cover, working full-time 37.5hours per week The post holder will provide specialist advice and guidance towards enhancing the Infection Prevention & Control service within the Galway Clinic.
The successful applicant will work autonomously and in collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that a cohesive and effective service is provided.
He/she will perform as a role model demonstrating high standards of clinical practice and leadership at all times.
Candidate Requirements: Be registered / eligible to register in the General Division of the NMBI Nurse Register.
Higher Diploma/equivalent course in Infection Prevention & Control Nursing/related field or willingness to complete same - desirable.
Minimum of five years post registration in an acute setting with a minimum of three years in the relevant area Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.
