About the Job The managers role is primarily to oversee the successful delivery by their team of the CRUs annual work plans and to provide specialist support /advice to the senior management team.
A key participant in the design, development and implementation of policy in the CRU, the manager is also central in shaping and maintaining a high performance, value-driven culture in the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities Managing and supporting staff in terms of coaching, mentoring, along with skills transfer and development; Carrying out appraisals for each team member through CRU annual appraisal process; Delivering work in line with the CRUs Strategic Plan, implementing the CRUs strategy day-to-day, embodying the values of the organisation.
Development of annual goals and objectives for the team which will feed into the CRU work plan; Managing at all levels in a changing environment that demands both flexibility and adaptability; Operating in an environment of increasing accountability; Providing a clear focus on the importance of managing outputs and outcomes; Managing key projects in line with the CRU work plan in a productive and efficient manner Representing the CRU at stakeholder engagements, communicating effectively with external stakeholders.
Carrying out such other functions as may be required from time to time to fulfil the business objectives of the CRU and as appropriate to the grade.
Essential Requirements An honours degree, NFQ Level 8 equivalent, in a relevant discipline (including but not limited to regulatory policy, engineering, science, law, finance, , business, accountancy).
Minimum of 5 years experience working in a regulatory, policy making or other relevant role.
The Package Starting salary of 82,495 *Candidates should note that entry will be atthe minimum point of the scale.
The rate of remuneration may be adjusted in line with Government pay policy.
Candidates should note thatdifferent pay and conditions may apply if, immediately prior to appointment, the appointee is a serving civil or public servant.
Salary increments will be awarded annually, subject to satisfactory performance.
