This is a full-time permanent role & a newly created position to meet the growing demands of an expanding business.
This position will see a successful candidate, who is commercially astute and highly motivated, take the role of General Manager and become a part of team that is committed to driving business developments and relations forward.
Summary We are now accepting applications for the role of General Manager.
We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have proven general management experience and a background or interest in wholesale distribution.
The General Manager is entrusted with a pivotal leadership role, encompassing comprehensive oversight of all facets of the company's operations.
With a primary focus on ensuring efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth, this position demands a strategic thinker with robust managerial capabilities to drive business objectives and foster a positive organisational culture.
You will form a part of the senior management team & play an important part in the strategic development of the company.
Reporting to the Directors of the business the candidate will be responsible for the following: Management of day-to-day operations Review and improve efficiencies by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivational work environment and implementing innovative changes Delegating roles and responsibilities to teams Supervising staff performance across all levels Overseeing procurement and staff recruitment Conducting periodic employee appraisals Reviewing and approving departmental budgets Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and partners Reviewing periodic reports and adjusting operations to better meet company goals Ensure that Senior Management are kept fully and properly informed of business updates, developments and challenges.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven success in a managerial role Strong decision-making ability Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans Ability to motivate and lead employees Strong working knowledge of operational procedures Candidate profile: Bachelor's degree or higher in business management, business administration, finance or related field.
Relevant professional certifications or qualifications in areas such as strategic management, finance, or leadership.
Minimum of 3 years' experience gained within the last 5 years as a Senior Manager in a similar industry or sector, with a deep understanding of industry trends, challenges, and best practices.
