Base pay range

Base pay range: This range is provided by Circle VHA. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Role and responsibilities
  • As the Mobile Maintenance Operative, ensure essential services repairs are carried out on owned and managed estates and homes.
  • Work closely with the Assets Team and Asset Repairs Officers to keep estates in good and safe condition.
  • Carry out a range of basic repairs and other estate works to ensure homes and communal areas are kept safe and in good condition.
  • Carry out general reactive repairs including carpentry, plaster repairs, painting, minor plumbing, and minor groundworks.
  • Respond to repair requests in line with Circle VHA repair timescales.
  • Work with private contractors when necessary to ensure satisfactory completion of work.
  • Carry out general void work as required to support timely completion of works.
  • Maintain safe working practices, minimize disruption to tenants, and keep tenants and colleagues informed of progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs carried out, including receipts for materials.
  • Seek advice from the Asset Team on building pathology matters or larger repair solutions.
  • Support the Asset Team with post-inspections of contractor works and pre-inspections of works, advising tenants on managing heating and condensation issues.
  • Advise the Assets Team on repair trends and potential end-of-life for components.
  • Maintain estate grounds (grass cutting, hedge pruning, weed killer treatment, planting) and keep paths clear of moss and debris.
  • Keep the estate clean and tidy, remove waste and graffiti, and clear gullies/traps of blockages.
  • Dispose of needles safely and assist with loading skips and bulky waste items.
  • Assist with abandoned vehicles on and around estates. Be proficient with fire alarm systems in apartment blocks and their resetting; coordinate on-site presence.
  • Act as key holder for community rooms and communal areas; be available out of normal hours as required.
  • Respond to enquiries from residents professionally and help resolve issues; support community events where needed.
  • Ensure all duties are carried out safely with appropriate PPE and risk assessments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Act as a point of tenant/contractor liaison on-site and feed updates back to the Asset Team.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive image of CVHA through professional conduct.
  • Complete any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role.

Education and Work Experience
  • Essential: A full, clean, and unrestricted Irish driving license
Desirable
  • Leaving Certificate including passes in Math and English
  • Relevant construction qualification or extensive experience in a similar role
  • Current safe pass certification
