The Award Winning Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa, in the vibrant town of Tralee, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Food and Beverage Assistant to join our outstanding Restaurant 58 team.

Overview

Role: Food and Beverage Assistant (Restaurant 58)

Location: Ballygarry Estate, Hotel and Spa, Tralee, County Kerry

Requirements: Must be available to work midweek between 7:00 am and 11:30 am.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure 4* standards of service are achieved at all times.
  • Perform in a professional and courteous manner with all customers (internal & external).
  • Offer in-depth knowledge of food and beverage products and hotel services.
  • Ensure all hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, and employment.
  • Maintain a clean department at all times.
  • Follow SOPs for Food & Beverage venues and guidelines in those manuals.
  • Set up covers and tables accordingly; prepare mise-en-place (napkins, cruets, glassware, cutlery, etc.).
  • Greet and seat guests in the restaurant/brasserie and bar areas.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately; offer explanations & advice on menu items.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant, bar, and banqueting areas.
  • Assist with room service: set up orders, deliver to room, and retrieve orders.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of tables and chairs for banquets and events.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure guest satisfaction at all times.
  • Clear and clear away ware; assist with washing up as needed.
  • Handle guest complaints discretely and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
  • Assist with menu planning and development.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Help with training and development of new staff members.
  • Report maintenance problems to the manager on duty.
  • Attend and participate in hotel meetings and training.
  • Support other team members when needed (e.g., drop drinks to tables for bartenders, clear tables as required).
Qualifications
  • Fluent English
  • Experience not essential but advantageous
