Horizons are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Clerical Officer, Grade III. The purpose of the post is to support the administration process in Horizons, aligning with the goals and objectives of the service.
The Clerical Officer roles will be based in the Montenotte/City Area of Cork.
Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.Candidates must have, by the latest date of application:
- Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
- Eligible applicants will be those who, on the closing date for the competition, have:
- Obtained at least grade D (or pass) in Higher or Ordinary Level in five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education established Leaving Certificate Examination or Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme or Leaving Certificate Applied.
- Or passed an examination of at least equivalent standard.
- Or possess satisfactory relevant experience demonstrating equivalent skills.
- And must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and administrative ability, for the proper discharge of the office.
Additional requirements include:
- Health: Candidates must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in good health to render regular and efficient service.
- Character: Candidates must be of good character.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a busy office environment is essential.
- Excellent administrative skills
- Good IT literacy in Microsoft and other packages
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact professionally and courteously with people
- Ability to respond to competing demands and shifting priorities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Effective time management skills
- Confidence and skill in handling day-to-day challenges
- Willingness to adapt to multiple demands and rapid change

- Experience in finance/accounting (beneficial)
