Senior Director - Head of Platform Engineering, Infrastructure & Security

Director of Cyber Security - SOC Leadership, Security Engineering, Strategic Operations - Dublin - £150,000 + 40% bonus

A leading international gaming and entertainment company are searching for a Director of Cyber Security to lead their Security Operations Centre, manage security engineering teams, and drive strategic cyber security transformation across their global operations.

The Director of Cyber Security's responsibilities will be:

  • Lead and operationally manage the Security Operations Centre (SOC), ensuring 24/7 monitoring, threat detection, and incident response capabilities.
  • Build, develop and manage a team of security engineers, SOC analysts, and advisory consultants across multiple disciplines and geographies.
  • Drive SOC strategy and roadmap development, implementing cutting-edge security technologies and automation to enhance threat detection and response.
  • Establish and maintain security engineering standards, implementing NIST CSF v2 frameworks and technical security policies.
  • Provide strategic cyber security leadership at board level, translating technical threats into business risk language for executive stakeholders.
  • Lead Security Monitoring & Incident Response operations, ensuring robust processes and rapid containment across critical business systems.
  • Oversee threat intelligence integration, vulnerability management, and security architecture review processes.
  • Manage SEC reporting requirements for significant cyber incidents and coordinate regulatory compliance across GDPR and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, DPO and Finance teams to enhance enterprise cyber risk management and governance.
  • Support merger and acquisition activities by conducting technical security assessments and due diligence.
  • Develop cyber security metrics, KPIs and risk reporting frameworks for senior management and board committees.

The Director of Cyber Security will be expected to have experience with:

  • Proven experience building, managing and scaling Security Operations Centres in large multinational organisations.
  • Strong technical background in security engineering, SIEM/SOAR platforms, threat hunting, and incident response technologies.
  • Strategic leadership experience with ability to operate effectively at board level and translate technical concepts to executive audiences.
  • Experience managing diverse technical teams including security engineers, SOC analysts, and specialist consultants.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of cyber security tools, threat detection methodologies, and security automation.
  • Risk management and governance expertise with experience in enterprise risk reporting and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience designing and implementing security monitoring strategies, playbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Strong technical communication skills with ability to present complex security issues to both technical teams and board-level stakeholders.
  • Track record of building security capabilities from the ground up and scaling operations to meet growing business demands.
