An established and innovative manufacturer based in Longford is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team. This company is a key player in the food production sector, known for its high standards in quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring the smooth operation of production lines through proactive maintenance and close collaboration with production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain production line performance, responding swiftly to any mechanical issues.
  • Collaborate with production teams to meet operational targets and reduce downtime.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance (PM) and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion health and safety practices across the engineering function.
  • Participate in daily and weekly performance reviews and shift handovers.

Criteria

  • Electrical trade qualification required; third-level engineering qualification is a plus.
  • Experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs (Siemens S7), pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair high-speed production equipment.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., Pemac) and engineering documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
