Overview

The National Campaigns Manager reports to the Head of Fundraising and leads a team consisting of the National Campaigns Officer, National Campaigns Coordinator, and National Campaigns Administrator. This is a Specific Purpose Contract – MAT leave cover, full-time (35 hours per week) with some evening and weekend work, and a hybrid working model (remote and Dublin 4 office).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver all elements of the Society's fundraising campaigns including research, development, planning, budgeting, marketing and review.
  • Identify, create, market and deliver new and dynamic fundraising streams and campaigns.
  • Supervise the campaigns fundraising team to implement the overall fundraising plan and ensure the team has the necessary skills and tools to achieve growth and income.
  • Ensure full team processes are documented and shared with relevant parties to ensure compliance and continuity.
  • Coordinate all elements of the Society's fundraising campaigns across all relevant teams from initial concept to delivery and attend and support other events as required.
  • Supervise the Campaigns team and all relevant teams to ensure campaigns proceed to plans, timescales and budgets.
  • Contract and manage external agencies and suppliers to meet objectives and ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Oversee creative approvals, copy and design review to ensure delivery within deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records on the ICS Dynamics database for analysis post-campaign.
  • Identify, source, develop and purchase premium items, campaign goods, and supporter materials.
Strategy / Financial
  • With the Head of Fundraising and other fundraising managers, develop a fundraising strategy for the Society's campaigns and events.
  • Deliver the campaigns programme, financial goals, and objectives in support of the overall fundraising strategy.
  • Manage financial targets and budgets; monitor performance and adjust plans as necessary; report regularly to the Head of Fundraising.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new campaigns and develop new initiatives; create plans to phase out less successful initiatives.
  • Monitor market changes and opportunities and competitive activity.
Marketing
  • Ensure all campaigns comply with charity legislation and are properly managed and controlled.
  • Understand risk assessment basics and work with Finance and ICS insurance carrier to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Cash handling, banking, acknowledging and receipting income in accordance with ICS policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding supporter information and ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in fundraising; establish memberships and liaise with professional bodies to ensure industry best practice. Undertake training as necessary.
  • Provide occasional support for urgent needs within the department and assist with special projects as required.
  • The Society operates a no-smoking policy; post holder must not smoke in the office or on Society business outside the office.

Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level.
  • 3–5 years proven experience in fundraising, marketing and people management.
  • Understanding of the Republic of Ireland not-for-profit and voluntary sector.

  • Strong empathy and compassion for ICS's volunteers and supporters, with a passion for putting them first.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative, financial and analytical skills, including planning and budgeting.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and deliver strategies; driven by financial targets and deadlines.
  • Self-directed, able to work independently with initiative and creativity.
  • Ability to establish marketing plans for campaigns with clear objectives and measurable targets.
  • Coordinate marketing activities to promote campaigns; oversee copy-writing for materials.
  • Evaluate supporter research, market conditions and competitor data.
Role
  • Coordinate all elements of the Society's fundraising campaigns across all relevant teams from concept to delivery; support other events as required.

  • Oversee sourcing and purchase of premium items and supporter materials.
Management
  • Recruit, develop and supervise the campaigns team, with regular supervision meetings and annual objective reviews; apply performance management and annual appraisal processes.
  • Ensure team processes are followed, including expenditures, holiday/absence, meetings, travel and other ICS procedures.
Developing And Managing Key Relationships Within ICS
  • Ensure a clear flow of information with all fundraising teams and other departments (Finance, Communications, Programme, and database team).
  • With the Community Fundraising, Supporter Services and Distribution teams, plan ahead of each campaign with clear actions and timelines.
  • Work with the Corporate Fundraising Manager to identify potential partners for fundraising initiatives.
  • Work with the Communications team to develop effective campaign communications plans.
  • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility and strong communication skills; maintain relationships across departments and externally as required.
  • Computer literate; CRM experience is an advantage; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
