Job Overview

This role is crucial in leading a team responsible for developing and delivering fundraising campaigns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Development: Develop and deliver all elements of the fundraising campaigns, including research, development, planning, budgeting, marketing, and review.
  • Innovative Fundraising: Identify, create, market, and deliver new and dynamic fundraising streams and campaigns.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise the campaigns fundraising team to implement the overall fundraising plan and ensure the team has the necessary skills and tools to achieve growth and income.
  • Process Documentation: Ensure full team processes are documented and shared with relevant parties to ensure compliance and continuity.
  • Campaign Coordination: Coordinate all elements of the fundraising campaigns across all relevant teams from initial concept to delivery and attend and support other events as required.
Strategy and Financial Planning
  • Fundraising Strategy: Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and other fundraising managers to develop a fundraising strategy for the society's campaigns and events.
  • Financial Goals: Deliver the campaigns programme, financial goals, and objectives in support of the overall fundraising strategy.
  • Budget Management: Manage financial targets and budgets; monitor performance and adjust plans as necessary; report regularly to the Head of Fundraising.
  • New Initiative Development: Identify and evaluate potential new campaigns and develop new initiatives; create plans to phase out less successful initiatives.
Marketing and Risk Assessment
  • Compliance: Ensure all campaigns comply with charity legislation and are properly managed and controlled.
  • Risk Management: Understand risk assessment basics and work with Finance and ICS insurance carrier to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market changes and opportunities and competitive activity.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Educational Requirements: Educated to degree level.
  • Work Experience: 3–5 years proven experience in fundraising, marketing, and people management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the Republic of Ireland not-for-profit and voluntary sector.

  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational, administrative, financial, and analytical skills, including planning and budgeting.

  • Independence: Self-directed, able to work independently with initiative and creativity.
