Skills Provision is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a well-established company in County Cork, Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting planned preventative maintenance and repairs on HGVs
  • Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues
  • Carrying out mandatory 12-week vehicle inspections
  • Servicing and maintaining all vehicles within the fleet
  • Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
  • Ensuring all vehicles comply with relevant safety and operational standards
  • Attending training courses as required to stay up to date with industry developments
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations
  • Travelling between company sites as needed
Requirements
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role
  • Relevant formal trade qualifications
  • Experience working on Volvo and Scania trucks is preferred
  • A valid Category B (car) driving licence is essential; a Category C licence would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of auto-electrical and hydraulic systems would be beneficial
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive, hardworking, and reliable attitude
Remuneration
  • Hourly Rate: €25 per hour
  • Estimated Annual Earnings (OTE): €50,700
