The project

The project:

The project is the largest infrastructure project in the history of the Irish state. The scheme is 18.9km in length with multiple tunneled sections. The alignment comprises of 16 stations and multiple structures. The project will integrate Dublin's existing transport infrastructure at key locations throughout the city. The project is entering into the next phase in readiness for the procurement of the major infrastructure contracts.

The successful applicant will join a fast expanding client team as part of the scheduling team within the PMO directorate. The successful applicant will be will be responsible for leading the 4D Modelling across the project, working closely with the design and information management directorates.

  • You will manage delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
  • You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of the associate director and other senior leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.
  • Initial creation, linking, maintenance & delivery of the Synchro 4D Model based on a self-designed strategy.
  • Transformation, optimisation, and organisation of limited Design Team models into flexible & constructable objects for Planning use (with direct integration if possible).
  • Creation of logistics, land use and temporary works 3D models.
  • Creation of constructable permanent works 3D models from limited design information.
  • Assisting in the integration of plans & sketches provided by contractors and suppliers.
  • Create reoccurring lookahead visual outputs for team briefings and reports.
  • Run 'what if' scenarios within 4D environment against baseline models to identify programme risks & opportunities.
  • Train and upskill the planning team in the use of Synchro and associated planning related considerations for optimal and efficient 4D Modelling.
  • Adding SHE data to the model to assist the H&S team
  • Adhere to the programme security requirements.

You'll need to have:

  • Experienced Synchro 4D Pro user.
  • Working knowledge of 3DS Max or other advanced 3D modelling package.
  • Substantial relevant experience in construction (constructability and methodology).
  • Broad knowledge of conversion and treatment of a range of design models.
  • Good working knowledge of scheduling (implications and logic-based sequencing).
  • Project experience of process driven workflows (formal and informal).
  • Knowledge of design and design management and the relevant process and governance structures.
  • Integration and interface management with multiple stakeholders.
  • Interrogation of the live 4D model and ability to provide detailed feedback to concerned stakeholders for solving or mitigation.
  • Knowledge of exporting and handling P6 schedule information for onward 4D use.

You'll also have:

  • Advanced/Experienced 3D Modelling capabilities.
  • Ideally an Advanced Synchro 4D Pro operator.
  • Experience of creating 4D Models from scratch.
  • Construction related qualification or extensive experience.
  • Strong presentation creation skills including still images and video output.
  • Ideally experienced in Adobe graphical and video products.
  • Analytically minded with strong internal curiosity and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in common application software packages (MS Office etc).
