Exciting opportunity to support and shape the delivery of operational excellence in Carne Group. This Manager position is a new role to centralise capital and financial management activities to support our UK management company. This Manager role will lead the transition of responsibilities into a centralised role and to maximise operational efficiencies of activities to support continued growth in UK business.
This Capital & Financial Management role will implement Carne's oversight of Fund Financial Reporting, Fund Expense Management, Capital Adequacy of the management company and other NAV oversight duties in accordance with UK regulatory requirements. The role will report directly to the Head of Capital & Financial Management, based in Ireland. Day to day activities will support activities to local UK senior management as required.
This role requires strong ownership of personal responsibilities and deliverables. The role will involve a high level of interaction with internal senior management and external delegates. This Manager role is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge of management company operations and enhance career development opportunities.
What are the minimum requirements you need for the role?
- Minimum of 5 years in asset management industry or similar.
- A recognised professional or third level qualification, relevant to the role. A qualification in business, accounting, finance, data analytics or similar is preferred;
- Proficient in MS Office applications;
- Prior knowledge of Funds structures, fund accounting or other fund operations would be a distinct advantage.
- Familiarity with performance fee methodologies

We are looking for ambitious professionals who are seeking to build their careers in a dynamic and fast-growing environment. Applicants with existing experience in roles with transferable skillset will be considered. Preference for professional accountancy qualification is a distinct advantage.
Ideal candidate would have existing strong experience in either fund accounting, financial reporting or similar roles in management company, fund administrator or depositary roles. The candidate will need to be proficient in dealing with fund accounting matters including providing direction to fund administrator. Candidate will need strong numerical and analytical skills to analysis information to support correct decision making. Existing experience of UK regulatory requirements and/or UK financial reporting SORP, is a distinct advantage however no mandatory as such technical knowledge can be developed in the role.
What is your role and your responsibilities?
- Ensure the funds under management meet regulatory requirements in each of the relevant jurisdictions.
- Ensure familiarity with regulatory requirements and potential changes to ensure regulatory compliance on an ongoing basis.
- Coordinate issues with internal operational teams and escalate matters , in accordance with internal escalation policies.
- Fund expense management duties including: fund expense analysis, budget preparation (Onboarding and ongoing), invoice approvals, monitoring budget vs actual expenses, instruction to administrators on budget accrual true ups & invoice payments, perform assessment of value (AoV), performance fee reviews and other related tasks.
- Oversight of fund audits including audit planning, financial statements reviews, coordination with auditors, audit query management, monitoring of audit findings and review of letters of comfort.
- Implementation of the capital adequacy monitoring process
- Prepare and present internal MIS, KPIs or other reporting as required.
- Maximize efficiencies and automation where possible. Identify areas for improvement and be proactive in driving change.
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of procedures.
- Drive efficiencies through use of automation and digital solutions
- Foster a positive team ethic and support the development and training of staff, when required.
- Manage recruitment and development of more junior member of staff and implement performance engagement programme.
- Influence the strategic development of the function to support growth and scale of business.
- Desire to lead and implement change
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to understand fund accounting requirements and NAV calculation
- Willingness to learn and develop in role.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
