DesignBuild Search is working with an independent project and Cost Management Consultancy in Cork. Due to expansion, they have an opening for an intermediate Quantity Surveyor. The successful applicant will join a growing team with support from our clients' Dublin HQ.

Scope of Projects:
  • Commercial

Minimum requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying
  • 3+ years' PQS experience
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor
  • Perform quantity surveying duties including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections
  • Experience in project management
  • Proficient in estimating packages, Microsoft Excel, and Word
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel, and construction managers to discuss costs
  • Monitor costs from vendors or subcontractors, explore variances, and manage issues with the manager
  • Report on actual costs and examine estimates used for planning and scheduling
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other documentation throughout the project
  • Assess cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs vs bids
  • Establish cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
  • Conduct studies to develop standard hour and related cost data for cost reduction
