Senior Linux Administrator

My client is currently looking for an experience Linux Administrator to join their growing team. They're looking for someone with experience building scalable platform components across multi-cloud and on prem. The solutions will be used to enable and scale developers, DevOps, and architects in cloud to use and scale their cloud solutions both securely and natively.

You'll have strong hands on experience in Ansible Automation Platform. Good experience with playbook, role and module development from inception to deployment using Ansible design concepts. Strong experience in console configurations/ adapting to organizational configuration practices. You'll follow SDLC best practices and be aware of to customer ITIL directives.

The Role

You'll design and implement infrastructure solutions across multi-cloud and on prem platforms. Strong hands on experience with Linux and Ansible Automation Platform. You'll work with cross-functional teams to identify, design, and implement end-to-end cloud-based solutions.

You'll develop and implement best practices for cloud platform deployments, including building for observability, future maintenance, and positive customer experiences. You'll 'own' all code and features into production, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to the platform.

You'll learn and use new and modern technologies on behalf of R&D. You'll stay up to speed with new industry tech and trends and in site reliability engineering. Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes and procedures.

Skills/Experience Needed

Strong hands on experience of Linux OS management. RedHat Satellite and/or Foreman repository configuration and management. Ansible Automation Platform experience including: Controller management, Private Hub management, Execution nodes, Execution environments, Containerization; Docker, Podman and similar.

Experience with CI/CD environment (Github Action, Azure DevOps or similar). Multi-tenant Cloud management experience. Multiple cloud hosting provider experience (GCP, AWS or Azure). Experience with writing / debugging Terraform / TFE scripts and pipelines. Performance optimization as applied to Configuration Management platforms and the OSes they reside. Experience in reading and interpreting log files in a variety of formats.

Developer competencies in three or more: Python, YAML, Bash or Jinja2. Automation scripting skills. You'll be able to understand team members code and adhere to their style, or influence style to establish team-wide consistency. Good hands on experience with debugging. Experience troubleshooting errors from a system administration viewpoint.

Strong experience of Git/GitHub version control operations. Experience in using/managing the following OS: RedHat Enterprise Linux (CentOS, Fedora). Ubuntu/Debian Linux. Documentation skills as they relate to the job role.

Based in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. (Hybrid – 2 days a week on site). Permanent Role. Salary according to experience.
