Job Title: Business Development Manager

Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive growth, identify new opportunities, and strengthen client relationships across all divisions. This role involves strategic sales planning, contract negotiation, and commercial account management, with a strong focus on laboratory services. The successful candidate will be a proactive sales professional with a proven track record in B2B environments and will travel regularly to client sites and the head office in Galway.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Growth Strategy

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market reach.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads through research and outreach.
  • Collaborate with leadership and marketing to execute revenue-driving strategies.
  • Track sales activity and performance using CRM tools.
  • Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage renewals.
  • Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.

Commercial Account Management

  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for clients.
  • Monitor account performance and identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular engagement and strategic reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide market and client feedback to inform business strategy.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in business development, preferably in laboratory or technical services.
  • Experience with public procurement and tender writing is a plus.
