Location: Aftercare Cork, 1 Parkview, Victoria Road, Cork
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift pattern: Day shift
Team: Cork Youth Homeless Duty Team

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the young person, social workers, carers, and others to assess needs before age 18
  • Develop a personalized Aftercare Plan six months prior to the young person's 18th birthday
  • Become the young adult's main support person once they turn 18, replacing the social worker
  • Provide guidance on housing, education, employment, budgeting, health, and relationships
  • Represent the young person in accessing services like mental health, social welfare, and housing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social care practice (Applied social studies in professional social care - Level 7 or 8 degree)
  • CORU Registration
  • Must be a resident in Ireland and have the legal right to work in Ireland without restriction.
  • Willing to undergo Garda Vetting.
  • International Police Clearance required (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16).
