Technical Support Associate – German – Galway City

Overview

My client is a multinational medical devices and healthcare company based in Galway, Ireland. They are hiring for a German-speaking Technical Support Associate. The successful candidate will report to the EME/APAC Technical Support Team Lead in a fast-paced department within the Technical Support division.

This role is based in Galway City, adopting a fully onsite work model.

This is a permanent position.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Receive inbound customer calls and email communications, addressing them professionally and courteously.
  • Provide first-level support in troubleshooting customer complaints across the designated product range by analyzing problems and asking appropriate questions.
  • Document complaints and inquiries following guidelines and procedures to ensure record accuracy.
  • Communicate investigation conclusions to customers via reports and phone conversations.
  • Manage group mailboxes, ensuring inquiries and complaints are addressed promptly.
  • Resolve complaints within the targets specified in KPIs for individuals, the team, and the company.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance customer experience.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in product specialisms relevant to the role and share knowledge within the team.
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications: 3rd Level Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in relevant disciplines such as Science, Biomedical, Medical Transcription, Healthcare Services, Nursing, Engineering. Call centre and admin experience are also acceptable.
  • Fluent in German and English is essential.
  • Desirable: Minimum 1-year experience in a medical/clinical environment or customer support role, capable of handling technical complaints effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
  • Understanding of technical writing requirements.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Office-based role with some flexibility.
  • Ability to organize workload, take ownership, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Responsible and accountable for daily tasks, alerting the team lead to any risks.
