Overview

Responsibilities
  • Arrive for the shift as stated on the department rota, wearing the correct uniform.
  • Ensure that subordinates adhere to times and procedures.
  • Control the washing, sorting and ironing of all linen and the prioritising and rotating of linen as needed.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in working order at all times; report any defects to maintenance.
  • Ensure all laundry assistants are fully trained.
  • Count all linen and towels every two weeks.
  • Inform the Accommodation Manager of any shortage of stock.
  • Participate in the company\u2019s customer programme.
  • Place maintenance calls to the correct company, log the call in the diary and report to the Accommodation Manager.
  • Ensure that all supplies are used correctly, minimising waste within the department.
  • Liaise with housekeeping as to any needs or requests for the department.
  • Be familiar with the hotel Fire regulations and procedures and report any discrepancies you may find (e.g., missing extinguishers).
  • Take responsibility for the running of the department and staff on shift.
What is required
  • Previous laundry experience in 4- or 5-star hotels.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Available to work 5 days out of 7 in full-time employment.
  • Good command of English.
  • A valid work permit is essential.
  • Must be residing in Ireland.
