What your role is:

Reporting to the country manager & head of sales Ireland, and as a key member of the customer team, this role will lead the primary interface between General Mills Ireland and one of our key customers. The responsibilities include achieving sales, share, and profit goals, as well as maintaining and growing the key brands within this retailer.

This demanding role requires drive, ambition, enthusiasm, and high-level skills in selling, negotiation, forecasting, and commercial awareness, along with the ability to foster strong Customer relationships.

It involves daily collaboration with other business functions, so success in cross-functional teamwork is essential. This is a high-profile position with opportunities for career development beyond this initial role.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and execute an annual sales plan for the customer.
  2. Maintain accurate financial and volume forecasts monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  3. Assess promotional ROI to optimize promotional spend.
  4. Implement promotional plans within budget.
  5. Lead thought leadership on our categories within the customer.
  6. Develop strategies to maximize sales and gross profit for both parties.
  7. Ensure excellent execution of plans, liaising with distributors, customers, and internal teams.
  8. Foster customer intimacy through cross-functional collaboration.
Who we are looking for:
  1. Proven success as a National Account Manager in a branded FMCG business, selling to grocery multiples, for at least two trading cycles.
  2. Strong understanding and experience of the Irish grocery trade.
  3. Knowledge of category management and how to leverage it for success.
  4. Confident in developing and delivering compelling sales presentations.
  5. Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  6. Experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver results.
  7. Understanding of consumer and shopper marketing.
