Due to the continued expansion of eir evo, we are now seeking to recruit an experienced Level 2 Support Deskside Engineer to become an integral part of our Managed Services Team. The successful candidate will work on a dedicated team for a prestigious client, supporting an evolving multi-technology IT environment.

The role involves exposure to technologies such as Microsoft Servers, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, VMWare, Citrix, Cloud (Azure), and the latest Microsoft applications & solutions.

This role is based fully onsite in Dublin City Centre, 5 days a week.

The responsibilities include:

  • Resolving hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and other devices; provisioning accounts and equipment.
  • Desktop support for the customer.
  • Supporting Windows Desktops, Outlook, Networks, MS Office, O365.
  • Maintaining and building current documentation.
  • Hardware troubleshooting & diagnostics.
  • Software installation and configuration.
  • Interacting with and managing third parties.
  • Application troubleshooting and support.
  • Imaging and deployment.
  • Managing file permissions and access rights.
  • Configuration and support of mobile devices.
  • Providing remote and on-site user support.
  • Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with users and management.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years in a deskside support environment.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, MS Office – Level 2 support.
  • Experience with Office 365 and virtualization is advantageous.
  • Customer service and call handling skills.

Preferred certifications and experience:

  • Microsoft Specialist certification in Windows 10.
  • Microsoft MCP for Client or Server OS.
  • CompTIA A+.
  • CompTIA Net+.

Exposure to the following technologies:

  • All Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Windows Servers.
  • Virtualization – VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V.
  • SMB Networking Environments.
  • Unified Communications.
  • Remote Access Solutions.
