Founded in 1994, Complete Laboratory Solutions (CLS) is Ireland's highest accredited contract laboratory and a leading provider of sampling, analysis, and analytical services to the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, and environmental sectors.
In addition to analysis and testing at our commercial laboratories, CLS partners strategically with clients to deliver flexible and managed quality solutions (FlexiQ). We supply organizations with highly skilled, work-ready quality professionals on a temporary, project-specific, or long-term basis, either at our site or directly at the client's location.
Job Title, Summary & Reporting Line
We are looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to identify new business opportunities, foster growth, and maximize cross-selling across all divisions. This role involves building sustainable client relationships and developing strategic partnerships aligned with our laboratory capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory services, technical sales, and B2B relationship management. Travel to customer sites across the country and to our Galway headquarters will be required.

Responsibilities
Sales Growth & Contracts
- Identify new business opportunities to boost sales
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through research and outreach
- Collaborate with the Department Director and Marketing team on strategies to meet revenue targets
- Utilize CRM tools to track activities and manage the sales funnel
- Prepare proposals and negotiate contracts with clients
- Ensure contractual compliance and address disputes
- Stay informed on industry trends and market conditions
- Represent CLS at industry events
Account Management
- Monitor account performance and identify upselling opportunities
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Serve as the main contact for clients
- Conduct regular reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify new opportunities
- Coordinate with internal teams to meet client needs
- Provide feedback based on client insights and market needs
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, or relevant experience
- Over 5 years of experience in business development
- Experience in the laboratory services industry is preferred
- Experience with public procurement and tender writing is advantageous
