Ormeau Credit Union

Risk & Compliance Officer

Ormeau Credit Union are looking for a Risk and Compliance Officer.

You will be responsible for identifying, assessing and managing all risks associated with the Credit Union to provide assurance that the Credit Union is operating within the legal and regulatory framework.

The Role

  • Develop and implement a robust compliance system ensuring all products and services align with laws, regulations, policies, and best practice.
  • Embed a strong compliance culture across the team, focused on getting it right first time.
  • Provide clear direction and leadership, engaging the team with honesty and a compelling future vision.

The Person
  • You will have a background in compliance and risk management that will safeguard the financial well-being of the credit union and its members.
  • Detailed knowledge of credit union related PRA/FCA compliance requirements.
  • You will have strong priority-based organisational skills.
  • You will have relevant and strong IT skills.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential

The Requirements
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above to include Maths & English.
  • Minimum 3 years experience within a financial environment e.g Credit Union, Bank, Building Society.
  • Minimum 12 months experience working in legal, compliance or risk departments
  • Experience in dealing with compliance issues in a financial services environment.

Desirable
  • Relevant professional/financial services qualification such as Pathways Diploma, QFA or ACOI.
  • Diploma in compliance or any other related qualification.
  • Experience is liaising with regulatory bodies.

The Benefits

Salary for this role is in the range - £28,000 - £32000 – plus other benefits associated with employment at Ormeau Credit Union.
