Overview

First Notification of Loss Claims Handler — Full-time, hybrid. KennCo is a broker-only underwriting agency, acting as a product producer on behalf of top-rated European and Irish insurers. The role is based in Dublin 16 (South Dublin).

The successful candidate will report directly to the Claims Operations Manager. This is a full-time permanent contract.

Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day handling of all post-notification claims, processing and related phone communications.
  • Compliance with insurance company binders and claims authority/reporting rules.
  • Improve department and company efficiency from best-practice perspectives.
  • Log all notifications and reserve amendments/payments onto the system by month end.
  • Assist in producing month-end reports to insurers and recording monthly payments.
  • Maintain good service management for customers, brokers and third parties.
  • Report to the claims manager and/or insurance carriers; assist in insurer audits.
  • Appoint approved repairers, loss adjusters, engineers, medical and legal experts to assist in claim settlements.
  • Seek early settlements where possible without involving legal experts; observe PIAB rules on reported claims.
  • Attend settlement negotiations if requested; provide training on monthly/quarterly reporting styles when required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years FNOL claims handling experience.
  • APA qualified or grandfathered; ideally working towards CIP.
  • Customer-focused with ability to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Awareness of underwriting principles, relevant legal/liability knowledge, claims regulations, CPC compliance and motor legislation.
  • Methodical, structured approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage/priority workload to meet objectives.
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills; team-oriented, proactive and motivated.
