Overview

The project:

We are now seeking senior lead engineers to join our team. The successful candidate will perform and lead complex client engineering assignments to ensure that business priorities are met. The client engineering function is responsible for undertaking project design reviews/site inspections on both contestable and non-contestable transmission projects to ensure that projects are developed in accordance with client\'s functional specification standards. Delivery of these projects is required to meet key departmental and company objectives.

Qualifications

You'll need to have:

  • Electrical engineering qualification to degree level or equivalent qualification, typically with 6 years relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Good technical knowledge in high voltage transmission design with strong knowledge of transmission technology including new and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on high quality report writing and ability.
  • Ability to influence others to move towards a common vision or goal and to work collaboratively with and through others.
  • Experience conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions or new ways of doing things with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience completing onsite inspections and monitoring of construction progress for compliance.
  • Full drivers licence.

You'll also have:

  • Membership of EI, RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Substantial experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the electrical sector.
  • Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience of leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
