Job Title: Payroll Administrator Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to support payroll and grant administration within the Finance Operations team for an 18-month fixed-term contract. This role requires an organised and detail-oriented professional who can ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, while maintaining strong compliance standards. Job Responsibilities: Handle end-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll and related deductions for staff and pensioners. Ensure accuracy and timely completion of payroll inputs, including maintenance of payroll records. Monitor payroll communications and promptly address inquiries and issues. Perform reconciliations and prepare returns for pensions and compliance with external deadlines. Contribute to the month-end close process as required. Ensure adherence to compliance policies and support a robust internal control environment. Provide payroll data inputs for cash flow forecasting and financial planning. Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including HR, finance departments, and government bodies. Assist with grant administration and other finance-related tasks as needed. Support audit processes and aid in the preparation of annual financial statements. Key Competencies: Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Proficient stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Flexible, proactive approach with the ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines. High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, with strong analytical abilities. Comprehensive understanding of PAYE, payroll reporting, and RPN processes. Essential Experience and Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years' recent experience in payroll administration, ideally in environments with non-systemised payroll processing. Certificate or Diploma in a relevant business or finance area. Recently obtained IPASS qualification or equivalent payroll certification.
