12 Months, Specific Purpose Whole-Time Post Position Summary Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position available at the School of Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) within the College of Science, Engineering, and Food Science (SEFS), University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. The Research Assistant will focus on research and development of a web-based system for editing, annotating, storing, retrieving, visualizing, and publishing Medieval Irish literary texts from the 13th century preserved in later manuscripts (from the 15th to 17th century). We invite applications from highly qualified candidates with a strong background in software development, text processing, and an affinity for transdisciplinary research and development. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary research team in the IRC ARA-funded project "The Disappearing Text: Memory, Place, and Gaelic Identities" led by Dr Kevin Murray, Department of Early and Medieval Irish, College of Arts, Celtic Studies & Social Sciences, University College Cork, Ireland but will be based in the School of Computer Science and Information Technology in the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science working under Drs Vijayakumar Nanjappan and Enkhbold Nyamsuren. The position is full-time and fixed term for 1 year starting from 1 January 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.
