Data Protection Manager, UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory, 60 Months Plus Panel 12 months

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Data Protection Manager within UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory. The National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL) plays an important role in the Irish Health Services as the principal diagnostic and reference service for clinicians investigating virus infections. The laboratory offers approximately 170 tests for the diagnosis of at least 45 different pathogens, and the current workload involves performing in excess of 1 million tests per annum. The postholder will lead on all data protection activities for UCD NVRL ensuring compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act. The Data Protection Manager is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the NVRL data activities are in line with current GDPR and Data Protection Act. The Data Protection Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance by all NVRL staff with current and future legislations; provide data protection support and guidance to NVRL staff across all aspects of testing process including Data Protection Impact Assessments, Risk Assessments, data sharing agreements etc. 95 Admin Off Ia_) Salary Scale: €71,317 - €83,337 Per Annum Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on the 6th of October 2025.
