About the Role An experienced and motivated Production Manager is required to join the team in Shannon. Reporting to the Operations Director and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, this full-time, on-site role is responsible for leading and managing the production department to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in line with customer demand. The successful candidate will oversee multiple production cells, resource planning, quality inspection, and compliance activities, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives across the department. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader with a background in production and lean manufacturing, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing people, processes, and systems to enhance organisational effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Manage all production cells (Small Batch, Large Batch, Solvents, Tank Farm, Organics, Metals, TOC) to meet departmental and overall business targets. Develop and manage the production schedule, ensuring accurate forward planning and strict adherence to ATP commitments. Oversee the Quality Inspection team and Production QC Inspector, ensuring data is accurately collected, collated, and reported in line with the Quality Management System. Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure robust inspection regimes and minimise customer complaints. Drive efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives by implementing lean practices, automation, technology enhancements, and process improvement projects, in partnership with the Lean Specialist. Ensure compliance with ISO17034 requirements for the production of certified reference materials, coordinating planning and execution with Cell Leads. Lead resource planning across human, material, and equipment requirements to ensure production readiness and sustainability. Maintain strict adherence to company policies, procedures, housekeeping, and health & safety regulations. Manage and develop direct reports, including coaching, motivating, and ensuring adequate training to achieve individual and team goals. Actively contribute to or lead cross-functional projects as required. Play a significant role in the strategic planning of the business to drive organisational effectiveness. Undertake any additional responsibilities as outlined by the Operations Director. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior role within a production facility. Strong understanding of production processes, lean manufacturing principles, and the laboratory supplies industry. Bachelors degree in Science (BSc), preferably Chemistry. Lean qualification desirable. Personal Attributes Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams.
