Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid / On-site preferred)
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Role Overview
As Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), you will be accountable for the full revenue lifecycle at Datalex including customer lead generation, customer acquisition, customer success and account expansion, customer retention, and revenue operations. You will lead the Sales, Marketing and Customer functions and will be a member of Datalex’s Executive Leadership team.
This position requires a strategic and results orientated individual. This person will lead all revenue generating functions under a cohesive go-to-market strategy to deliver growth for the business. They will also implement scalable processes for pipeline management, revenue forecasting, and customer success, ensuring that every function operates with a clear sense of ownership and commercial discipline.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving sustainable revenue growth, developing high-performing teams and establishing best practice processes that support future scale. The ideal candidate will also be passionate about solving customers’ needs and will work closely with our Product team to ensure that we are building products and technology with customer’s needs always at the forefront of our vision.
This leader will also be responsible for ensuring that the Datalex culture and values are embedded in everything that we do.
Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to drive revenue growth and profitability growth for the business.
- Set ambitious growth targets for the revenue generating teams. Coach and lead teams to perform against these targets.
Sales & Business Development
- Build and develop a pipeline of opportunities and convert this pipeline into signed customers.
- Lead and deliver winning proposals to prospect customers.
- Build relationships with the key decision makers of potential customers and ensure that their needs and requirements are addressed throughout the sales process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective implementation of sales strategy.
- Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and continuously optimise sales performance.
- Regularly report on pipeline progression and key opportunities.
Customer Success & Account Growth
- Lead the customer team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Act as the the main point of contact for our customers.
- Execute go-to-market initiatives to upsell and cross-sell to our customers and to ensure that we bring continued additional value to our customers.
- Partner with our customers to ensure that they are getting the maximum value from the products and solutions that they currently use.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including include product and delivery to ensure that the products and service we are providing is driving meaningful business value for our customers.
- Accountable for the profitability of customer accounts.
- Establish and personally maintain strong relationships with key customer executives, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate
Marketing & Demand Generation
- Lead the marketing team to execute marketing initiatives that drive pipeline growth and brand awareness.
- Align marketing KPIs with sales acceleration, customer acquisition and customer conversion.
- Represent Datalex at industry events and conferences.
- Strengthen product resonance with key airline segments globally.
Revenue Operations & Enablement
- Support the sales team by creating and structuring complex deals in a way that is compelling for both customers and Datalex. Partner with finance and legal teams in the creation of these proposals.
- Deliver predictable revenue forecasting and insights that support the teams with making data-driven decisions.
- Drive initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency and operational leverage across growth channels.
Leadership & Culture
- Lead the teams fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Coach and mentor team members so that they can grow their careers at Datalex.
- Ensure the Datalex culture and values are embedded in everything that we do.
Qualifications / Experience
- 15+ years in senior commercial roles (Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Growth Officer, VP Sales, GM, etc.).
- Experience in travel tech, with airline experience a distinct advantage.
- Proven track record of driving revenue and profitability growth in other organisations.
- Experience in building and executing successful go-to-market strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop high performing and collaborative teams and implement best practice processes.
- Strong commercial expertise and experience in managing the end-to-end customer lifecycle.
- Experience in stakeholder management and proven to ability to develop strong relationships with people.
