Hours of Post: 36.5 hours per week
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Chief Technical Officer 1 (Points 1 - 7) Salary Scale (€71,596 - €89,172 per annum). At a point in line with current Government pay policy. Monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
Responsibilities
The Chief Technical Officer 1 (CTO1) is responsible for the effective provision of technical and operational management of the Discipline of Anatomy. They will provide effective technical and operational management within the Discipline underpinning excellence in academic and research, supporting the day-to-day activities while also furthering the Discipline’s planning and long-term objectives.
The CTO1 leads and manages a team of skilled technical staff and is responsible for monitoring their work performance in addition to mentoring them in their professional development and supports recruitment for new technical posts.
The role holder is required to bring significant knowledge and experience to the continuous development of the laboratory spaces, support the Discipline’s Human Body Donor Programme with sensitivity, coordinating the management, preparation and care of donors to ensure the smooth delivery of practical classes and examinations within the Dissection Theatre, and preparing students and staff for the unique challenges of working with human donors. The CTO1 role requires sensitivity to the complexities of working with human anatomy and excellent communication skills and professionalism.
