An EHS Specialist is required to support a construction project for a leading biopharmaceutical company based in East Cork. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with all relevant regulatory and corporate EHS requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the Permit to Work system.
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations related to PSCS/PSDP responsibilities for construction activities.
- Deliver EHS inductions to contractors and project personnel.
- Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Prepare and maintain EHS reports, records, and statistics.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and monitor the implementation of control measures.
- Monitor compliance with legislative and corporate EHS standards, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.
- Assist in the development and coordination of emergency response procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an EHS role, preferably in a construction environment within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sector.
- Strong working knowledge of Irish EHS legislation, especially related to construction projects.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to engage with contractors and stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
