IBM is seeking a Security Architect specializing in AI and Automation to support the design, implementation, and enhancement of secure, scalable cloud solutions and automation frameworks. This role is ideal for a candidate with foundational experience in SecDevOps, cloud technologies, and automation development who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to IBM’s mission of achieving compliance by design. The role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects, develop technical expertise, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.
Your role and responsibilities
1. Assist in designing and implementing secure cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and GCP.
2. Collaborate with SecDevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards like FedRAMP and NIST.
3. Collaborate with SecDevOps to automate cloud provisioning, configuration, and monitoring tasks, reducing manual overhead and improving reliability.
4. Troubleshoot and optimize network performance and security under the guidance of senior architects.
5. Ensure all automation and architectural solutions adhere to compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, SOC2, and NIST standards.
6. Assist in documenting processes and workflows to align with audit and compliance requirements.
7. Partner with compliance, engineering, and program management teams to align technical solutions with broader organizational goals.
8. Communicate technical findings and proposals effectively to team members, stakeholders, and leadership.
9. Demonstrate curiosity and initiative by proactively learning how various teams and their missions align with IBM’s objectives.
10. Take ownership of assigned tasks, showing a commitment to delivering high-quality results within deadlines.
11. Display a growth mindset, seeking opportunities to improve skills and contribute meaningfully to the team’s objectives.
12. Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required technical and professional expertise
1. Demonstrated experience in cloud architecture, automation development, or SecDevOps roles.
2. Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, IBM Cloud, or Azure.
3. Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows using Python, JSON, and Slack APIs to enhance operational efficiency.
4. Experience with DevOps and SecDevOps practices and tools like Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, or Jenkins.
5. Basic understanding of compliance standards such as FedRAMP, SOC2, and NIST CSF.
6. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, or similar are a plus.
7. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
Preferred technical and professional experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
2. Willingness to learn new processes and standards as they evolve and adapt current approaches to maintain a high level of execution.
3. Outstanding teammate but can work independently when required.
4. Ability to deeply understand security controls and help improve its implementation.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment.
