My client, one of Irelands leading Civil Engineering contractors are now searching for a Site Engineer to join their team and oversee the successful delivery of civil engineering projects within the ESB sector, top-tier public realm and infrastructure projects across the midlands. This role requires a strong background in managing civil projects. Role: Set out the works and ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided. Review information from drawings, specifications, etc. to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, so that they clearly understand what is required. Test materials as directed by your supervisor/line manager in accordance with the relevant specifications. Quality reviews on site regarding rebar, concrete placement, inspection test plans and the likes for utility installations. Review of technical submissions prior to upload to design team to ensure that the correct areas of work are addressed. Directing subcontractors in some instances with regard to works to be carried out. Preparation of technical method statements. Traffic management on site, being able to coordinate works within a busy location. Record all daily activities, relevant information and occurrences in your site diary, including carrying out surveys of completed works and drafting As-builds drawings. Pursue, proactively your own development and training. (i.e. complete the work-based development programme in a timely manner). Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all personnel. Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment. Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work. Conduct your work in a safe manner Follow directions and attend meetings as required. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering project management. A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is desirable. Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, ICE, or similar) would be an advantage. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, project management techniques, and ESB industry standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members. Ability to identify challenges quickly and develop effective solutions to keep projects on track. Proven experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
