Account Director / Senior Account Director Red Flag is seeking an exceptional Account Director or Senior Account Director to join our Brussels team, leading high-impact campaigns for major clients across Europe and around the world. This is a key senior hire for Red Flag, the multi-award-winning strategic communications and campaigns consultancy. We specialise in integrated advocacy campaigns on sensitive, complex and business-critical issues – combining public affairs, media relations, digital mobilisation, coalition building and creative activations to deliver for our clients. From our offices in Brussels, London, Dublin, Washington DC and Cape Town, we advise some of the world’s most recognised companies, coalitions and industry associations. About the role
As an Account Director or Senior Account Director, you will lead and deliver campaigns on behalf of a diverse mix of EU and international clients. You will serve as the strategic lead on key accounts, drive campaign execution, and help grow client relationships and new business opportunities. You will work closely with a high-performing team of public affairs professionals, campaign strategists, former diplomats, journalists and political advisers to develop and implement creative, multi-channel strategies that win. This role is based in Brussels, but we will consider strong candidates in other EU capitals or remote locations. International travel may be required.
Key responsibilities
Lead integrated communications and public affairs campaigns for clients at EU and global level
Provide strategic advice to senior clients, including on regulatory and reputational risk
Oversee campaign planning, delivery, reporting and budgeting
Manage and mentor junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and high-performance culture
Build strong media, political and stakeholder relationships to support client objectives
Identify and lead new business opportunities, including developing proposals, pitching and cultivating a strong network of prospective clients
Candidate profile
We are looking for a confident and highly capable consultant with:
Proven experience as an Account Director or equivalent in EU public affairs, strategic communications or campaigning
Strong track record managing complex client accounts, budgets and multi-stakeholder programmes
Excellent client handling and interpersonal skills, with the ability to earn trust and deliver results
A strategic mindset with creative instincts and commercial awareness
A solid network in Brussels, including media, institutions and stakeholders
Exceptional written and spoken English; other languages are a plus
Team leadership and line management experience
