POSITION SUMMARY The Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Technical Project Manager will provide global leadership and technical project management support for APIs at both internal manufacturing sites and external Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). In addition to leading API technology transfer teams, the project manager will serve as an API Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Veterinary Medicine R&D (VMRD), Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS), and the API CMO network for Zoetis. This role is directly tied to Procurement and Global External Supply to ensure continuity of API supply. The API Technical Project Manager will have an active role in process troubleshooting, development of continuous process improvement projects, and providing support for the development of second-generation technology through collaboration with VMRD POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Lead API transfer teams providing technical project management support and technical expertise across the manufacturing network, including internal and external sites Provide GMS API expertise and input regarding preferred process technologies on co-development and launch teams Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues within the GMS and VMRD networks to identify potential value-creating opportunities for API manufacturing processes Facilitate the flow of sufficient information from all sources to fully understand customer needs, and follow up to ensure business requirements are fully met Participate in complex troubleshooting and problem-solving activities across the manufacturing network promoting utilization of the DMAIC process Identify and mitigate quality and supply risks related to API Keep abreast of technological advances specific to API technologies, applying new techniques where appropriate Participate in due diligence efforts and technical assessment of CMOs to support evaluation of potential sourcing options/changes ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Organizational relationships highlighted above EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE BS degree in chemistry or chemical engineering is required 10 years of industry experience, minimum of 5 years of API process chemistry experience Mastery of scientific principles, practices, and theories with broad API experience Demonstration of strong skills in organic chemistry and API manufacturing Skilled in applying statistical methods to API process performance TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Effective interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross functional environment The ability to confidently assert a technical position Foster a productive environment that encourages teamwork and commitment to results Strong understanding of regulatory and quality requirements Proven record of consistent performance Demonstrated capability to effectively apply knowledge, lead multiple activities and balance priorities Commitment to delivering results Demonstrated excellence in planning and organizational skills Comprehensive demonstrated skills in communication (oral and written) - particularly technical writing PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS This role is based in Ireland, with travel, including international travel, as needed (~15%) Full time Legal statement as below This job advert indicates the general nature and level of work expected.
