Field Technician – Ireland - Can be based anywhere in country
The Field Technician will provide technical support to approved contractors and an extended customer base across Ireland, including surveyors, architects, main contractors, local councils, and clients. Roofing experience is preferable but a background in facades etc may be considered.
This support will involve site visits at pre-contract, in-progress, and post-completion stages, as well as the delivery of technical training both on-site and at dedicated training centres.
The Field Technician will work closely with the Technical and Sales Teams and report directly to the Technical Field Services Manager. This is a field-based role requiring frequent travel across Ireland.
Objectives Ensure waterproofing systems are installed in line with specifications and standards.
Deliver contractor training and upskilling where required.
Collaborate with Area Technical Managers to support technical delivery in the region.
Maintain clear communication with contractors and clients to achieve project quality and compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Conduct roof condition surveys, pre-start inspections, and in-progress site visits, issuing accurate reports to contractors and Area Technical Managers.
Support the sales team in promoting products and systems to architects, surveyors, engineers, and contractors.
Manage site reporting and maintain accurate records in the company CRM system.
Attend pre-start and progress meetings on major projects.
Deliver contractor training, installation demonstrations, and support at trade shows or training centres.
Provide training and mentoring for Graduate Field Technicians.
Liaise with contractors to carry out joint inspections and support warranty compliance.
Communicate weekly activity summaries to the Technical Field Services Manager.
You will be required to be flexible in this position and must be prepared to undertake such other work as may be assigned to you from time to time.
Skills Required Full Irish/EU/UK driving licence and valid passport.
Strong knowledge of roofing systems (Single Ply, RBM, Liquid, Hot Melt).
Ability to read and interpret specifications, wind load calculations, and condition reports.
Proficiency in report writing, photography, and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good organisational and diary management skills with flexibility for frequent travel.
