Civil Engineer

Site Based Civil Engineer: Greater Dublin Area The Site Engineer reports to the Senior Site Engineer / Site Agent, working closely with him / her to help drive each project Safely through to completion, within Programme, within budget and to a high quality and environmental standard. Within Jons Civil Engineering, Site Civil Engineers are hands-on leading their area of responsibility through cost control & efficiency, engineering innovation and hands-on collaboration. You will be highly motivated to deliver the project, develop your skills and grow your engineering knowledge and experience. You will be willing to work on your own initiative as well as an integral part of the project delivery team. PRINCIPLE DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES You will be responsible for and proficient in organising, planning and delivery of civil engineering projects of varying sizes You will liaise with the Construction Manager on day-to-day project control and co-ordination of resources. You will liaise with the Site Foreman in the organisation of the workforce, the requisitioning of plant and materials items and in managing the productivity and costs of plant and equipment on site You will have a detailed understanding of Health and Safety requirements within Irish construction sites, and you will promote the implementation of the Safety Management System and maintaining site records in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements You will assist through engineering innovation in our drive to reduce carbon on all project You will be responsible for managing key elements of the project plan and scheduling and planning the weekly and daily workforce program deliverables You will be responsible for coordinating the workforce (direct and sub-contractor) and all other resources required to implement the execution of the project plan You will be responsible for setting out and checking works as required for the project You will be responsible for scheduling material requisitions as required in accordance with the programme You will provide clear leadership and direction to the workforce while maintaining a professional manner You will be responsibility for the quality of the construction deliverables, as well as creating and/or assessing quality standards You will be responsible for inputting to the monthly project measures and your sites cost control and efficient Reporting You will maintaining a daily site diary and allocation sheet detailing resource levels for all works activities and keeping accurate records You will be responsible for taking site measurement and formation record levels Key relationships: Supports maintaining positive working relationships between operatives and staff; client and contractor; suppliers and contractors; public and contractors; and sub-contractors and contractors. Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline. 2-5 years experience in a Civil / Construction Engineering role. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a collaborative project team. Experience in the use of Digital Platform Project Management & Information Management Systems and in addition AutoCad, Civl 3D, Revit or similar.
