Qualifications

- Appropriate qualification in a related construction plant, procurement or commercial field.
- 5 years + experience in an equivalent role.
- High level knowledge of asset management principles and practice.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and standards related to sectors of operation.
- Proficiency in the use of asset manager tools & systems.
- Process-oriented with analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, relationship management and influencing and stakeholder management skills.

Reporting to the director in charge the key requirements of the role will include:

Key Responsibilities:

- Overall responsibility & accountability for the Collen Plant Department.
- Drive the development and implementation of Collen asset management strategies.
- Manage all plant & asset lifecycle activities, including acquisition, maintenance, and disposal.
- Dispatch and return of all plant & assets relative to project requirements.
- Manage the planned and reactive maintenance of all project assets including site cabins, tools, plant, equipment and vehicle fleet. Minimise downtime and maximise asset productivity.
- Develop a full life cycle cost register of all plant and equipment, including identifying the optimum life span of each plant and equipment.
- Responsible for procuring and/or hiring plant and equipment at the most economical cost.
- Generate Hire versus Buy appraisals for all site plant and equipment.
- Maintain the most economical procurement and/or hire approach through strategic engagement with plant hire and sales vendors.
- Responsible for procuring all site and vehicle fuel and replacement parts requirements.
- Ensure profitability of the Plant Department by efficient cost management and managing revenue effectively.
- Setting and administrating Internal charge out of all plant department related costs to projects.
- Management of central workshop and yard.
- Management of site logistics requirements inclusive of all haulage requirements as required by projects.
- Thorough technical understanding of large plant items including Tower and Mobile cranes.
- Manage re-use, sale and/or recycle of plant assets effectively.
- Manage vehicle incident and accident events including organising the most efficient repair and rescue solution.
- Align plant management with sustainability strategy of the business.
- Provide research and guidance on the latest plant and equipment innovation within the industry.
- Assign vehicles and maintain records for BIK.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, including booking NCT, DOE, vehicle insurance, and Tax.
- Maintaining up to date records for all plant, vehicles, and tools and comply with best practice and regulatory requirements.
- Organising, documentation, reporting and management of required maintenance schedules, breakdowns and faults.
- Minimise downtime and maximise value of assets.
- Develop plans for the replacement or upgrade of obsolete assets.
- Point of contact for onboarding new employees on all matters relating to company vehicles and Collen plant services.
- Tracking, tracing & documentation of all leased and hired assets
- Organising 6 monthly inspection and testing of lift devices (forklifts, teleporters, chains, slings, waste skips, concrete skips, harnesses, etc.)
- Compliance with all statutory and company safety, environmental and sustainability requirements.
- Reporting
- Prepare prequalification, tender and tender return appraisals for all documents for supply of vehicles, equipment and plant.
- Prepare monthly reports & provide data analytics
- Commercial
- Apply a high level of commercial awareness with regards to the management of company plant & assets.
- Manage asset management budgets and provide accurate expenditure forecasts.
- Review of existing contracts & supplier agreements.
- Reconciliation of creditor statements for all plant and assets.
- Oversee the processing of invoices in line with company procurement process and procedures.
- Prepare regular comparison documents on purchase versus hire / lease of vehicles and plant.
- Processing and monitoring orders and liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
