We currently have an exciting full-time, permanent contract opportunity at Higher Executive Officer Grade for a Head of Arts in the Irish language.

Department and role overview

The arts departments in the Arts Council lead the organisation in the development, implementation and evaluation of our corporate strategy, Making Great Art Work, and is responsible for overseeing the development and support of the arts in all statutory artforms.

*The Head of Arts in the Irish Language is a new role incorporating two distinct areas of responsibility:

- Head of Irish Language Literature
- Head of Irish language affairs, incorporating Irish language-based arts, Irish language applications to all schemes and relations with relevant agencies and organisation dealing with Irish language arts issues.

Each of these roles is a part-time (2½ days per week) and the roles may be combined for one individual, where applicant experience and suitability are appropriate. Alternatively two part-time roles may be filled. Because of this, applicants may apply for either role or both (please include your preference in your cover letter).
