Overview
Responsible for ensuring agreed standards are maintained, with particular attention to maintenance and hygiene in bedrooms, public areas and linen, and ensuring rooms are fully checked to the company 4* standard prior to returning them to reception.
Responsibilities
- Ensure assigned rooms, bathrooms, corridor areas and public areas are cleaned to the standards, using only approved chemicals/cleaning materials and equipment, and replenish stocks of bathroom and bedroom items to the correct standards.
- Ensure bed linen and towels are changed according to the agreed schedule and standard laid down for your hotel.
- Maintain tidy, cleaned and stocked accommodation trolley, caddies and storage presses.
- Pass any guest property left behind to the Accommodation Manager for lost property.
- Alert the Accommodation Manager to the needs of accommodation staff, including materials or equipment needed to carry out their job efficiently.
- Maximize the use of all resources and ensure the lowest cost levels.
- Report any maintenance issues to the supervisor/manager promptly.
- Liaise with your supervisor regarding room moves, VIP guests, and special needs; act on any information given.
- Inform your supervisor of room status on an ongoing basis once rooms have been checked.
- Actively participate in any training, meetings and personnel exercises designed to improve standards and performance levels.
- Carry out the hotel’s customer relation policy.
- Communicate hotel services to guests.
- Receive customer complaints courteously and sympathetically and report to your manager immediately.
- Arrive for duty by rostered times in full clean uniform and wearing name badge at all times.
- Ensure the highest standards in personal hygiene and grooming (please refer to company grooming policy).
- Report DND or No Service every day.
- Keep corridors free from debris at all times.
- Be responsible for key cards in your possession.
- Report all accidents to the Manager on Duty.
- Comply at all times with Fire, Security Health and Safety Procedures.
