Supply Chain Manager - County Cavan

Job Summary:

The Supply Chain and Procurement Manager oversees the entire supply chain operations, including sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and logistics. This role ensures that products and materials are acquired at the best possible cost, quality, and delivery timeline to meet company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business goals.
  2. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes for the company.
  3. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnership and continuous improvement.
  4. Oversee and manage end-to-end supply chain processes including demand planning, procurement, transportation, and inventory control.
  5. Monitor and forecast inventory needs to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
  6. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products to meet production and customer needs.
  7. Collaborate with production, sales, and finance teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  8. Optimize inventory levels to balance carrying costs with production requirements.
  9. Implement inventory control processes and systems to track stock movement and manage obsolete items.
  10. Continuously assess supplier performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  11. Identify opportunities for cost savings through process improvements, supplier consolidation, and negotiations.
  12. Analyse risks within the supply chain and implement strategies to mitigate potential disruptions.
  13. Manage and lead the procurement and supply chain team, providing mentorship and training.
  14. Prepare regular reports on key supply chain metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
  15. Present insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
  • A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g. CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.
  • At least 5 years' experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Manufacturing environment essential.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data and trends for decision-making.
