Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead our Hygiene Department on the evening shift. The successful candidate will oversee a team of Hygiene Operatives, ensuring that cleaning and sanitation standards are consistently met, production areas are maintained to the highest levels of food safety, and all hygiene procedures are carried out effectively. Working in a busy food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate and support a team of Hygiene Operatives during the evening shift.

  • Organise and allocate tasks to ensure all cleaning schedules are completed on time.

  • Monitor hygiene standards across production areas, ensuring compliance with food safety and company requirements.

  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members.

  • Complete shift reports, maintain cleaning records, and update hygiene documentation using PC-based systems.

  • Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth handovers and effective communication.

  • Drive continuous improvement in hygiene practices and team performance.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a hygiene/sanitation role within the food industry (essential).

  • Proven track record of leading, supervising or managing a team.

  • Good knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Basic PC skills for record keeping and reporting.

  • Ability to work the evening shift (5:30pm – 2:00am).
