Accommodation Assistant

This role requires an individual to ensure the cleanliness of bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team. They must also be proactive in reporting any maintenance issues or hazards within the department.

Main responsibilities include cleaning allocated bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas including corridors and cubbies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for operating machinery correctly, adhering to health and safety procedures at all times.

  • To clean allocated bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas including corridors and cubbies.
  • To operate any machinery correctly ensuring adherence to health and safety procedures at all times.
  • To be responsible for the daily stocking of all trolleys and caddies.
  • To use all cleaning chemicals as directed.
  • To wear personal protective equipment when cleaning e.g. rubber gloves, masks, eye goggles where necessary.
  • To adhere to all recycling procedures within the department and hotel when disposing of waste.
  • To return lost property found to the accommodation department.
  • To maintain a positive friendly attitude with both hotel guests and colleagues.
Customer Service Skills
  • Provide efficient friendly service to guests.
  • Adhere to key standards.
  • Handle guest requests and complaints professionally.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with guests and colleagues.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
  • Comply with hotel health safety and environmental procedures.
  • Report any hazards accidents incidents and near misses.
  • Ensure team adherence to health safety and environmental practices.
Presentation and Grooming Expectations
  • To wear correct uniform and name badge.
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend relevant training courses.
  • Serve on hotel committees as required.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.
  • Assist in other departments as necessary.
  • Contribute to sustainability efforts by reducing waste improving energy efficiency and reducing water consumption.
Working Conditions
  • This role requires flexibility in working hours including weekends and holidays.
  • The position involves standing for extended periods and may require lifting and carrying items.
