Senior Molecular Biologist: Cell Line Optimisation and Therapeutic Applications

Key Responsibilities of Senior Scientist Cell Line Development and Gene Therapy:

  • Develop expertise in relevant instrumentation and techniques through attending scheduled training.
  • Design, validate methods, and Standard Operating Procedures for efficient laboratory operations.
  • Perform experiments with precision, reproducibility, quality control, and validation to achieve high-quality results.
  • Record experiment data accurately and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot experimental issues to optimize process improvements.
  • Design and optimize vectors for biologics and ATMP applications.
  • Develop and validate methods for improved Biologics and Gene Therapy generation, performance, efficacy, and applicability across various applications.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship in experimental design and project development.
  • Suggest opportunities for operational excellence in laboratory operations.
  • Support and develop collaborations with academic and industry groups for advancements in biologics research and ATMP research.
  • Prepare publication-ready protocols, data, and reports for stakeholders, collaborators, and clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in biotechnology, cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field.
  • Research experience or industrial experience in biotechnology or biopharmaceuticals.
  • Strong record in Biologics and Gene Therapy development and characterisation.
  • Significant experience in cloning and vector design work.
  • Excellent cell culture skills, including CHO and HEK cell culture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mammalian expression technologies for monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, and multi-specific proteins.
  • Experience in Biologics development using various expression platforms.
  • Experience in mammalian cell line optimisation, clone isolation, characterisation, and banking.
  • Experience in antibody characterisation techniques for assessment of kinetics, affinity, and competitive binding using SPR or other techniques.
  • Experience in RT-PCR, dPCR, Sanger, or other sequence characterisation techniques.
